"He closes his eyes and pictures the sun.
That is what it feels like to love her; warmth." ~ Atticus

I began dreaming up a styled wedding shoot. I kept imagining a beautiful, Kansas elopement in the country. I have photographed nearly 50 weddings, but I wanted something unique that was just for fun. I could picture a table set for two, tons of fresh flowers, and the most perfect lace wedding dress. I contacted the sweetest couple, and reached out to the top wedding vendors in our area, which all happen to be located in Downtown Hays!

The best part of planning was stumbling upon the perfect location… an old, abandoned church in the country, that still stood strong and beautiful in the Kansas sunlight. After a fire in 1998, all that remains are the massive limestone walls of the old Sacred Heart Church on Emmeram Road. It was a breath taking area, and exactly what I had dreamed of for this shoot. After getting approval to be there on location, everything began to fall into place, and by early Spring it all became a reality. I am very proud of every little detail, and thankful for all those who collaborated to bring it together. Heather and Logan are two of the kindest people I have ever met, and madly in love with one another, which made everything even more special. I hope you enjoy a glimpse into this styled Kansas elopement.
